Can i transfer my title to someone without going to the DMV?

i live in north carolina and can i just go get my title notarized so that way i can just hand the new driver the title and they go do there part? Can i transfer my title to someone without going to the DMV?
Yes. There's no need for you to visit the DMV. Besides getting the title notarized you should also mail the DMV a notice of sale (see the link). Not all buyers title or register the car in a timely manner. If something happens to the car before they title it it could become a major headache for you. There was for example a post here the other day where a car someone sold was impounded, the new owner disappeared, and since they were still the owner of record with no proof that they sold the car the state was after them for all kinds of penalties claiming that they were trying to avoid fines by claiming the car had been sold. Imagine the trouble they might be having if the car was used in a crime. It happens. Can i transfer my title to someone without going to the DMV?
the notary needs to see you and the new buyer sign the title. depending on the year you may need an odometer statement. the buyer can take the title with the bill of sale to the DMV. you do not need to go to the dmv
