How do I get a New North Carolina Driver's licence?

I just moved to NC about 3 weeks ago from Michigan. Last weekend I lost my Michigan Driver's license. I live in Raleigh and I have to be in Charlotte (2.5 hrs away) the day after Labor Day. I found a DMV in Charlotte so I want to drive to Charlotte to take my test. Unfortunatly the only thing I have to prove my full name is a my old expired driver's license (its been expired for a little less than a year).

I have my SSN card, and mail to prove that I live here.. will the DMV accept my expired license so that I can get a new one? I don't know what else to do (I dont have a passport and my mom cannot find my birth certificate back in MI!)|||They should be able to issue you a NC license in exchange for your MI one without testing. Just tell them your license was lost in the move, and show them the old one so they can see the numbers. They should be able to verify you had a valid license (they are connected to other states by computer), and get you fixed up.|||Go to the NC DMV site on line you can find all your answers there......|||First of all I would suggest calling the NC Driver Services Division, explain your situation, and ask how you can get a NC license.
