I'm a new resident of north carolina?

i've been living with my brother for almost 2 months now and i've found out the law that you only have to be 18 to get your license and don't need to have your learners any amount of time the only proof of residency i have is my pay stub from work is that all i will need or do i need some other form of proof? i hate staying on hold for a representitive at the dmv..I'm a new resident of north carolina?
