i got my permit in nc 4 months ago, but i turned 16 2 months ago, in texas the law is that u only have to have you permit for 6 months, and then u can get your license. Will i be able to get a texas license after obtaining my nc permit for 6 months? Or do i need to go to the DMV and get a texas permit and then have that for 6 months before i can i get a license?Is my North Carolina learners permit valid in Texas?
Sorry, NO! You may use a North Carolina permit to practice driving in Texas as long as you observe all the requirements of your permit. However you can NOT use it to get a license in any other state except North Carolina. If you plan on living and driving in Texas you will need to obtain a Texas learners permit.
