I was out of town about 4 hours away from home and needed to get my license back. I had proof of insurance and registration and several bank cards with my picture on them. I am an american. I had no other forms with me at the time and could not have gotten them. they where at home 4 hours away.

the dmv workers were not very informative they act like they dont care and would not even let me ask them questions. so my question is could I have gone to get a document from the court house like for example a police report or something to prove who i am. they wanted to forms of id and i only had 1

also I live in nc and there is alot of mexicans here, how do they walk in and get them what kind of documents do they have to get? I 've been here all my life and I had things they could not possibly have or should have . what can someone do to get an id when they tell you you need 2 forms of id. Yes because of the 9/11 situation they tightened security and it is absurd. You can go to the Department of Vital Statistics and get your birth certificate you have to pay for it, another way for them to make money off the tax payer. Also you can write to the Social Security Administration ssa.gov and get a new Social Security Card and those two things should be good enough for you to get your drivers license. It's like you have to go through an act of Congress to get your license now, it's ridiculous to put American Citizens through this. You know if you are a citizen, HOW DO THEY THINK YOU GOT TO BE A CITIZEN FOR REAL. I agree if you had a drivers license in the past and you provided proof of identity at that time why do you need to provide it every freaking time you go to DMV.
