I live in North Carolina, Im 18 and getting my license (never had permit). What do I have to do at the DMV?

I am 18. I am going to get my car Monday and get insurance. I have to have insurance before I go to get my license. I have never had my permit or anything. I really need my license. Can anyone tell me what I have to know and know before going to the DMV?|||http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/driver/license/ will give you what you need for 18 or older.|||permit and written test is first/then road time and then road test and then license/when you go there you will get a copy of the rules
