North Carolina DMV help?

I made the mistake of waiting too long to get my learner's permit, (I'm 17), and I was just going to wait until I was 18 to get my license. I was just wondering if I got my permit now, at 17, if I would still have to wait one year until I could get my license or if by turning 18 I could automatically try to get my full provisional license and not have to wait a year. By the way, my birthday is in February. Just an additional detail. All help appreciated! Thanks.|||You should be able to get your regular license at 18, you should call your local DMV office to make sure though.
