How long does it take to get license in north carolina?

I am 20 and i was thinking about getting a permit. I didn't get it when i was 15. never had time to make a trip down to the dmv or whatever. Anyway, do i have to take the class over again and take a test to get a permit? Help?|||You'll need a car with insurance (doesn't have to be yours) to take the driving test with. There will also be a written exam. You can brush up on the material with the DMV's guide found on their website, http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/driver_services鈥?/a>

There's an eye test and a test in identifying road signs. ( A few don't have text on them, so be sure to remember the shapes too!)

Be sure to take all the required paperwork and be prepared to pay with cash, or a check if the address matches your current address.

You won't have to take a class again. At age 20 I believe you can skip the permit altogether and get a full license.

If you pass everything they'll give you a temporary license on the spot that's good for 10 days or something. Your real license or permit will arrive in the mail before it expires.

If you don't pass you'll have to wait a period (2 weeks maybe?) before you can try again.
